Kayla and Roman’s wedding at The Poynter Institute was a whole lot of personality wrapped up in one seriously fun day. Their story started on Hinge, with Kayla accidentally showing up to the wrong Keke’s for their first date, and somehow that little breakfast mishap turned into almost three years together and a proposal at a Rays game—basically the perfect way to propose to a huge baseball fan. Their wedding design followed that same sense of fun, with a bold, retro-inspired aesthetic full of bright orange, vibrant greens, playful details, and gorgeous florals that felt colorful without feeling chaotic. The mix of modern design, mid-century vibes, and the unique architecture of The Poynter Institute made the whole day feel incredibly intentional and unlike your standard ballroom wedding. It was bright, weird in all the right ways, and completely them—which is exactly how a wedding should be.
